Extremely rare Powolny figurine: Hygieia. United Viennese and Gmunden ceramics.

Height: 33.5 cm.
The model by Powolny was created in collaboration with Bertold Löffler (1874 Nieder-Rosnthal - 1960 Vienna). Gold background, base with black background. Company marks with model number. Minimal wear, one arm with minimal glaze cracks.
* Powolny, sculptor, ceramicist, applied artist, studied at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna. Freelance since 1901. 1906 co-founder of the Werkstätte Wiener Keramik. 1909-1936 taught at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts, 1912 professor. * Löffler, painter, graphic artist and designer, studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vienna, pupil of Koloman Moser. Freelance artist since 1900. Together with Michael Powolny he founded the Werkstätte Wiener Keramik. From 1907 taught at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts, 1909 professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg.
