Painted in color, painted gold. THE MODEL WAS SENT TO THE MANUFACTORY BY SCHEURICH IN 1932; BUT NOT MADE IN PORCELAIN UNTIL 1933 OR 1934; THE FIRST SALE OF THE GROUP WAS BOOKED IN 1934; BY 1940 ONLY A TOTAL OF 3 EXEMPLARIES HAD COME ON THE MARKET (Meissener Manuskripte VIII, Johannes Rafael (1996) page 98). Unglazed base, incised mark, sword mark with dot on the base, artist's signet. Fine glaze crack to the front of the base.
* Scheurich, painter, graphic artist, illustrator, sculptor, modeller, studied at the academy in Berlin. From 1912 first works for the Meissen manufactory, KPM Berlin and Nymphenburg. Titular professor in 1924, his figures present exuberance and elegance, his facial expressions and gestures reflect temperament and passion, one of the most important porcelain sculptors of his time * Meissen manufactory price: 15,590 euros (unpainted, in white).
