Contemporary colored engravings. Max. 18.5 x 20.5 cm.
Series of 6 plates with colored copper engravings, in the style of a paper theater. Scenery front with "IHS" in rocaille cartouche, with scenery numbers 150, 151, 152, 153 and 154. Front sheet probably mounted more recently, no. 154 somewhat wavy.
There were three different sizes of Martin Engelbrecht's backdrop picture series. This is the largest version. The backdrop pictures were mainly used in peep-box theaters or peep-box dioramas.
