German painter of Expressionism and New Objectivity. Although Felixmüller was considered a musical prodigy and studied at the Dresden Conservatory at the age of 12, he decided to study at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts at the age of 15. Felixmüller taught himself printmaking techniques such as woodcuts. During the Nazi era, his works were considered "degenerate art".
