Bronzed wrought iron, satin-finished clear glass with white, red and orange powder fusions, electrification with bayonet socket and cable switch. 33 x 17 x 31 cm, Ø shade 10 cm. 1.6 kg.
Forged rose branch with large blossom on the martelized base plate, stem-like shaft with leaf trimming and sepals on the bell-shaped glass shade with triple pinched edge. Electrification renewed. In working order.
Van Boeckel was a Belgian blacksmith. He was successfully self-taught and received the highest award at the World Exhibition in 1900. He was commissioned for the balustrades of the National Bank in Athens and the White House in Washington D.C., among others, and created several cathedral gates in South America.
