Foot, shade and socket sheet iron lacquered black, shade lacquered white inside, foot rim and arm brass chrome-plated or nickel-plated, black lacquered wooden handle. Old electrification with screw socket and pressure switch on the base. H 48 cm, Ø shade 29 cm. 4.1 kg.
Rare design classic. Locking knob on the joint for the swivel arm with wooden handle. Lampshade swivels on all sides. Rusty, plug replaced. Works fine.
Christian Dell studied at the Weimar School of Arts and Crafts under Henry van de Velde. From 1922 to 1925, he was foreman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar. There he worked with Marianne Brandt, among others, on the design of lamps for industrial production.
