Art Nouveau bronze figure: Trader with chicken and fruit basket
Patinated bronze. Marked with the addition "Hors Concours", foundry mark "E. Codeau Paris", monograms "E.C." and "EV" on the base. H 59 cm. 15.0 kg.
Barefoot young peasant woman with a chicken in her hand and a basket under her arm, probably on her way to the market. Minimal signs of age/use.
Sculptor in Paris, studied under his father J.-B. Moreau as well as Claude Ramey and Albert Dumont.
