Terracotta figurine group: Bacchante scene.

Terracotta, gray cover. 31 x 37 x 29 cm. 5 kg.
Bacchanalian scene with faun and nymph engrossed in a game around the grapes held up by the faun. Toes, hoof tip and hair partly chipped, chipping partly with traces of purple paint on the faun's back, further minor chips to the base and various grapes.
If Clodion, then: sculptor actually named Claude Michel in Paris, pupil of Pigalle.
