The ladies are slightly caricatured, the subject matter is typical of the time, such as urban life, fashion, society and the new self-image of women, depicted with a slightly ironic distance, painted briskly with a broad brushstroke, a mixture of realism and satire. Portrait study on the reverse, blackened frame, gilded inner profile. Small chips to the paint in the upper corner.
