Brass jug. Hayno Focken.
Stamped HF in ligature on the neck. Mid 20th century
Brass, tinned inside. H 23 cm, Ø body 16.5 cm. 1625 g.
A martellated jug with a bulbous body, slightly funnel-shaped neck, wide spout and riveted ear handle. The wall decorated with chased geometric patterns. Slight signs of age and wear, patina in places (verdigris).
Hayno Focken (1905 in Lahr/Black Forest - 1968) was a German metalsmith and silversmith. He was trained by Professor Karl Müller (1888-1972) at the Burg Giebichenstein School of Design and Art in Halle (Saale), which was associated with the ideas of the Deutscher Werkbund and Bauhaus.
