Large South German Biedermeier commode clock.
Circa 1830/40.
"Joseph Häring in Regensburg" engraved brass gear train, rack striking mechanism and graduated disk for quarter hour strike with two hammers on a gong. Movement functional in short time test, striking mechanism in need of revision. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, minute ring and sun hands.
Mahogany veneered, reddish stained and partly ebonized, brass, carved wood, stucco-gilt and bronzed, alabaster. 56 x 48 x 17 cm.
Biedermeier portal clock with a lyre-shaped clock case, column portico with mirrored back wall, on each side an armed antique warrior with shield and spear. Pedestal with concave corners, on a profiled base with pressed ball feet. Crowning missing, a recess in the base on the reverse. Significant signs of age and wear, thread suspension torn, hour hand loose, dial with defects, in need of overhaul (clay spring defective), inactive anobia infestation, partly with additions.
With key and pendulum with thread suspension.
