Arabic ornamental table "Kursi".
Probably Egypt, Syria. Probably 19th century.
H 53.5 cm, Ø 40 cm.
High-quality silver, brass and copper inlays on open-worked walls, with numerous ornamental inscriptions. The side walls are attached to the edge strips with decorative screws. One side with double-sided door. Loose base plate. Probably originally still a provisionally inserted intermediate shelf at the height of the double door. The six screwed-in legs with two different engraving patterns. In the literature, these tables are also occasionally described as Koran tables. Cairoware, Mamlyk Style.
