Pair of earrings of the jour-et-nuit ("day and night") type. Historically, changeable pieces of jewelry of this type, in which suspensions could be variably attached or detached, were already made in the Baroque period in order to achieve increased variability of wearing options with a single piece of jewelry. The term "Jour et Nuit" refers to the possibility, as well as the convention in place at certain times, of wearing variable earrings of this type short during the day and long in the evening The present pair has a pair of wide pendants, each set with 2 small brilliant-cut diamonds set in white gold, attached to a pearl. The pearls with natural growth marks, the pearls on the studs with traces of wear, especially on the back.
