Large Dutch wall clock.
19th century
Brass movement with verge escapement and striking on two brass bells. Function not tested. Dial on a colored and painted iron front, Roman hours and Arabic minutes with arched arcades, Louis XV hands and date display at 6, in the painted arched field a moon phase leaf and small landscapes.
Oak, solid and reddish painted, partly ebonized and gold bronzed. Approx. 155 x 45 x 26 cm.
Glazed clock case on three sides with a pointed gable, round arch segments and lateral half-columns. Long, curved pendulum case with rocailles side supports and an oval window with a brass application with vase motif in front. Behind the glazing, landscapes painted on wood with windmills, lighthouses, river courses and shipping motifs. Signs of age and use, partial defects, scratches, crowning figure attachments missing, inactive anobia infestation.
With 2 weights, pendulum rod and metal chains.
