Extraordinary barrel music box with figural striking mechanism.
Walnut veneer with ribbon inlays and lacquer decoration, brass fittings. 60.0 x 31.5 x 23.0 cm. 17.5 kg.
A cylinder music box, probably British production around 1900, with a special chime mechanism in the form of 3 Asian-looking figures operating the bells with mallets. Plays 10 melodies listed on a slip of paper inside the lid. According to the consignor, refurbished, function tested. Minimal signs of age and use on the veneer (small dents).
