Bust of a boy: Jesus
Bronze with polychrome patina. inscribed "Raoul Larche", foundry mark "Siot-Decauville Paris". 37 x 38 x 22 cm. 10.35 kg.
Bust of a young boy with shoulder-length hair and a sideways gaze. The bust was created after the full-length depiction of the 12-year-old Jesus in the temple, which Larche exhibited with great success at the Paris Salon in 1890.
Signs of age and wear.
François-Raoul Larche: sculptor and painter, studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, regularly represented at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1884-1911, member of the jury of the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris, received a number of official commissions.
