Large Art Nouveau bust "Atala"
Cast metal, burnished, multi-colored patina. inscribed "R do Aurili", titled on the base. H 66 cm. 18 kg.
The bust of a young woman with a small dagger in front of her chest on a titled plinth. Her hair is braided into two plaits and decorated with a ribbon. Signs of age and wear, rubbed patina, small holes (Ø 1mm) on the back.
If it should be Richard Aurili, then: Italian sculptor (1864 - 1943 Villeneuve-Loubet, worked in Belgium until 1890 before moving to France and exhibiting at the Paris Salon.
