Limited terracotta figure: Dancer with tambourine.
"Cormier" inscribed and "JD" monogrammed as well as "Epreuve D'artiste", studio stamp and numbered "20/100".
Terracotta, partly painted in color. H 37.5 cm. 1.50 kg.
On a polygonal plinth, a young woman with a prancing step, joyfully playing the tambourine in her right hand. She wears a white robe which, like her hair, seems to be blowing in the wind. Minimal chipping to the chest (Ø 1 mm).
If this is Joseph Jules Emmanuel Descomps, then: French sculptor and goldsmith (1869 Clermont-Ferrand - 1950 Paris), also known as Joé Descomps-Cormier or Cormier, pupil of Louis-Auguste Hiolin and Alexandre Falguière.
