Large alabaster figure group: Two young dancers
Alabaster. inscribed "R. Merlini". H 62.5 cm. 27.90 kg.
Two female figures stand on a rectangular plinth, holding each other. Their slightly posed postures are complemented by the robes moving in the wind, which lend the depiction a subtle dynamic. Chips and scratches, one woman's nose, hair tips and robe tip restored, base chipped and cracked, with a larger restored break.
