"Fleur de Bohème"
Cast zinc, burnished, bust and arms presumably porcelain with yellowed paint. "Fleur de Bohème" titled on the base. H 42 cm. 4.25 kg.
The figure of a young woman in a corset dress stands on a stepped plinth, holding a tambourine in her left hand. The sculpture is in the style of a chryselephantine and was probably created after a work by Emmanuel Villanis (1858 Lille - 1914 Paris). Significant signs of age and wear, flaking of the bronzing, heavy patina (white rust and verdigris).
Provenance : Museum estate of Peter Kaus.
