Large bronze group: Three knights
Patinated bronze. inscribed "Raffaelo Romanelli Firenze". 55 x 34 x 32 cm. 23.80 kg.
On a landscape base three riders in formation, the central rider raising his right arm armed with a sword. Partly patina (verdigris), sword defective.
Raffaello Romanelli: Italian sculptor, came from a family of sculptors, studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, where he was a pupil of Augusto Rivalta (a pupil of Giovanni Dupré), taught at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, from 1909 Demétre Chiparus studied with him.
