Bust of a young woman with bonnet
Terracotta, reddish-orange. inscribed "d'ap. Greuze" inscribed. H 42.5 cm. 2.50 kg.
The bust of a young woman on a round base, wearing a hood with a wavy edge and a small flower on her décolleté. The inscription "d'ap. Greuze" indicates that it could be a bust after the painter Jean-Baptiste Greuze, who was known for his depictions of young girls and women; his pupil Constance Mayer was the model for many of them. Signs of age and use, two larger cracks along the shoulder (crack on the right shoulder with a trace of restoration).
