Bust of a young woman with her hair tied up and half-revealing her upper body, after the famous bust of Juliette Récamier by the French sculptor Joseph Chinard (1756-1813). Partial gold abrasion.
Juliette Récamier was one of the most famous women of her time - known for her beauty and her influential salon. She modeled for Cinard as early as 1802, at the age of 21. Versions of this model are available in various materials. Executed in white marble, this bust can be found under cat. No. (3604) in the sculptures.
