Sceptre mark and red orb, c. 1835/40 (cup) and KPM sceptre mark and red orb, 1837-1844 (saucer).
Cup (h 13.5 cm), original saucer (Ø 18 cm).
Cylindrical shape with paw feet and rosette handle. Pink-colored ground with ornamental floral gold painting, on the front a gold-framed rectangular cartouche with the saying: "Gieb den Gedanken, die Du hegst nicht Zunge, / Noch einem ungebührlichen die That. / Be kind, but by no means mean / The friend who tests your and his choice / With iron hooks, clasp him to your heart, / Lend your ear to everyone, to few your voice; / Take advice from all, but save your judgment. / This above all: Be true to yourself / And from this follows, as the night follows the day, / You cannot be false to anyone / My blessing promote this in you."; gilt inside. In the mirror of the saucer the monogram "IC". Small chips to the paw feet.
