Very finely and richly detailed painted view with figural staffage. Passepartout, glazed gilded stucco frame.
* Klerk, Dutch landscape painter, pupil of Pieter Hofmann and Adrianus van der Koogh, traveled the Ardennes, Luxembourg, 1835 Rhine and Ruhr, 1838 in Bavaria, Thuringia, Saxony and Bohemia, since 1817 in the Dordrecht artists' association Pictura, teacher of Frans Lebret, represented at European exhibitions, Klerk is one of the most important romantic painters of his hometown.
