* Masereel, important Belgian artist, painter, watercolorist, draughtsman, caricaturist, graphic artist, illustrator, publisher, lecturer, studied at the academy in Ghent, worked in Paris from 1910, 1915-1921 in Switzerland, worked in Avignon and Nice after 1940, 1947-1951 professor at the academy in Saarbrücken, 1953 president of the Société Internationale des Graveurs sur Boix XYLON in Zurich, regularly represented at numerous international exhibitions, works in international museums.
