Large clock case with Jupiter, Chronos and cupids on a pedestal. Meissen.

Case height: 64 cm, pedestal: 14.5 x 43 x 29 cm.
In relief, painted in color, painted gold. Body and pedestal partially open-worked, with plastically applied flowers, pedestal with floral and insect decoration. Incised marks, press mark, painter's marks, sword marks, case painted once. Parisian movement by S. Marti & Cie, Striking mechanism on bell, keywind, white enamel dial, open-worked hands. Case: bell, pendulum, one brass ring on keywind missing, partial firing cracks, glaze defects, figure crown visibly mounted, one arrowhead, lightning bundle, one heel, few flowers, leaves chipped, few flowers, leaves restored, pedestal: flowers restored and partially chipped, minimal partial firing cracks.
* Leuteritz, sculptor, studied at the academy in Dresden, 1849-1886 head of design at the Meissen manufactory, 1882 professor, worked on existing 18th century vessel forms and figures and designed vases, clocks, candlesticks and figures himself, the most prolific modeler of historicism.
