Pair of large candlesticks with Bacchus, nymph and cupids. Meissen.

Height: 47.5-49 cm.
Relief painted in color, rich gold decoration, removable 3-light candelabra tops with removable crowning cupids. Incised marks, impressed marks, painter's mark, sword marks. One torch, five arms, five legs, six hands, three feet, a bass violin, flutes, an upper candelabra shaft, a drip pan, some flowers, leaves, one candelabra attachment restored, one drip pan, five candelabra arms slightly chipped, one torch, one violin shaft chipped (loose).
* Hirt, sculptor, studied at the academy in Munich, pupil of Max Widnmann, opened his own studio in Munich in 1864, became popular for his figures from poetry and mythology, the Meissen manufactory acquired a total of 50 models.
