Large signed medallion carpet with fine islimis.
Late 20th century Tabriz, Iran. Signed and inscribed in Persian on the narrow sides.
Wool and silk, very fine hand-knotting. Polychrome decoration. Approx. 203 × 316 cm.
Large eight-panel rosette medallion on a lavishly florally patterned, curved hexagonal field. Herati border with large palmettes and flowering branches across the border, knotted fringes, kilim finials with interwoven birds, flowers and signature on winged cartouches. Leather-reinforced long sides on the reverse.
