Inscribed on an adhesive label on the reverse. Profiled frame. * The painting was exhibited: 1957 in Berlin, 1958 in Peking, Shanghai and Wuhan, 1966 in Turnhout (Belgium) and in Vienna. Doubled.
* Masereel, important Belgian artist, painter, watercolorist, draughtsman, caricaturist, graphic artist, illustrator, publisher, lecturer, studied at the academy in Ghent, worked in Paris from 1910. 1915-1921 worked in Switzerland, after 1940 in Avignon and Nice. 1947-1951 Professor at the Academy in Saarbrücken. 1953 President of the Société Internationale des Graveurs sur Bois XYLON in Zurich, regularly represented at numerous international exhibitions, works in international museums.
