Baroque tabernacle top secretary with a hunting scene.
Walnut and other woods, solid and veneered. Approx. 167 x 117 x 75 cm.
Corpus composed of 3 parts with curved and shaped front. 10-bay tabernacle top with 1-door central compartment, inside with 7 small drawers, 2 of which can be locked. Inclined desk with hinged writing surface, inside with 1 large and 6 small drawers, 1 drawer with small compartments, top covered in green leather. 3-tier chest of drawers on 4 pressed ball feet. Lively veneer pattern due to the artistic use of various woods, wood grains and marquetry, ribbon and thread inlays, mock coffering with baroque reserves, banding and floral motifs, top with a large bird on a tree trunk, leaning desk with a horseman and hounds hunting. Brass bow handles, floral brass fittings, iron locks, interior drawers with wooden knobs, drawers and compartments with various paper linings. Restored, with additions. Top crown missing, slight signs of wear, partial defects and cracks, inactive anobia, locks partly stiff, 1 replaced brass knob loose inside.
