Inlaid Baroque Desk Box.
Various wood veneers. Max. 29.7 x 26.0 x 19.3 cm. 2.8 kg.
Baroque-era desk box with detailed inlay work: On the lid, a depiction of a handle vase filled with flowers between four rocaille motifs; on the back, a dove or parakeet among fruit and berries, holding a berry branch in its beak; interior features a separate compartment for writing instruments. Consistent with its age, few signs of aging and wear overall, with veneer loss at the rear corners, dry cracks, and a repair in the veneer on the front; the lid of the pen compartment was likely fitted with a new paper covering around 1900; no key.
