Print made by his mother, Maria Korff-Morgner. Discolored, stained, lower edge of the image rubbed, adhesive residue.
German painter and printmaker of the Worpswede artists’ colony, a student of Georg Tappert; his work was strongly influenced by Otto Modersohn, Max Liebermann, and Rembrandt; later, particularly by the “Blauer Reiter” (Blue Rider) movement; also acquainted with Franz Marc; influenced by the war beginning in 1914, leading to a more intensive exploration of death and biblical themes.
