Naval saber with scabbard—probably a private collection piece.
Circa 1900. Germany.
Total length 97 cm.
Slightly curved, single-edged blade with a fuller and reinforced spine; etched pattern featuring an indistinct anchor. Gold-plated brass hilt with openwork guard, lion’s head pommel with inlaid red glass eyes. Handle likely originally made of plastic with wire wrapping. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings. Minor chips in the chrome plating on the blade’s cutting edge.
