Surreal composition of swirling green lines framing blue fields. Slightly discolored; frame has minimal chips.
Graphic artist from a London family of artists; moved to Paris in 1926 to join the circle around Alberto Giacometti, Balthus, Alexander Calder, and others; moved to the Surrealist circle in 1929, where he became a leading figure in printmaking; emigrated to New York in 1940, where he was an influential teacher and role model for American and international modernist printmaking.
