If this is indeed the work of the painter Anton Braith, then the following biographical information applies: German painter (1836, Biberach – 1905, ibid.), student of the genre painter Johann Bapt. Pflug in Biberach. Attended the art school in Stuttgart in 1851. In 1860, Braith moved permanently to Munich. Here he was initially strongly influenced by Piloty, though his work was limited to animal and landscape motifs. He traveled to Venice, Paris (influenced by Troyon), London, Rome, Naples, Sicily, northern Germany, and Switzerland—but especially to Bolzano, where he founded the Batzenhäusl Gallery with his friend Christian Mali in 1889.
Bibliography: Thieme/Becker.
