Colorless glass, polychrome enamel painting, gold decoration. H 10.5 cm.

Mug with slightly concave sides, yellow-stained star on the base. Painted in the style of Kothgasser glasses with three playing cards; on the reverse, the French inscription "Leur union est notre force" (= Their unity is our strength).

J. Hortenský: Trained as a glass painter at the Glass Technical School in Nový Bor. Production of “replicas of clear and opaque white glasses featuring transparent, black-solder, and enamel painting in the Baroque and early Biedermeier styles, as well as imitations of glasses by Kothgasser and Mohn. Most glasses and Ranft cups produced after 1996 are no longer signed and generally cannot be distinguished from the originals by the layperson." (Hartmann [2003], p. 176).
