Sword mark, 1934–1945, 1 scratch beneath the mark. Design: 1937. SCHEURICH, Paul (1883 New York – 1945 Brandenburg)
Coral-red decoration, gold accents. Cup (H 8 cm), original saucer (Ø 14.5 cm).
Bell shape with rocaille handle. On the front, the coral-red motif of a rider falling from a rearing horse.
Paul Scheurich presented the first decorative designs featuring riders to the manufactory in 1937. Under the name “Reitertassen”, these were transferred to metal plates and used in a printing process to decorate cups. The first cups were decorated in this manner in 1937. However, no sales were recorded at that time.
In 1995, the mugs were remolded for the Paul Scheurich anniversary exhibition, but this time they were decorated using the aquatint process.
