Multicolored patinated bronze, wooden base. Signed "Loriot"; foundry mark "Ara Kunstguss" with the addition "ars mundi"; numbered "433/980". 15.5 x 21 x 17 cm. 4.05 kg.
Bust of the famous little man with the bulbous nose in a pensive pose. Signs of age and wear, patina worn in places, scratches and small dents, slight patina formation (verdigris).
Loriot: born Bernhard-Viktor Christoph-Carl von Bülow, known as Vicco von Bülow, was one of Germany’s most famous comedians, active in literature, television, theater, and film from the 1950s until his death, Loriot first established himself as a cartoonist; later, he also worked as an actor, screenwriter, animator, host, director, and set and costume designer, and created the iconic little man with the bulbous nose.
