Patinated bronze, white marble plinth. Inscribed "Eugène Bourgouin," foundry mark "Susse Frères Éditeurs Paris" with the addition "Cire Perdue." H 25 cm / 23 cm (total 25 x 32 x 15 cm). 6.55 kg.
Seated nude with a bow and arrow and a dove. Based on the attributes, this may be a depiction of Cupid. Signs of age and wear; patina partially worn away; minor scratches; plinth chipped.
Eugène Bourgouin: French sculptor; worked in the studio of Louis-Ernest Barrias; studied at the École nationale des arts décoratifs in Paris beginning in 1901 and subsequently transferred to the École des beaux-arts.
