Bell Angel and Bell Miner. Füchtner Workshop, Oberseiffenbach.
Company stamp on the bottom. 1990s.
Wood, turned, drilled, and painted in red, white, green, and gold. Each 41 cm.
These two Christmas figurines, part of the Füchtner family tradition, feature combined pyramid-shaped winged mechanisms with angel and miner figurines that strike bells with small hammers via a simple mechanical device; they have been part of the workshop’s production repertoire since around 1885. They were reintroduced into production by Kurt Füchtner (1903–1970) in a slightly modified form. Minimal signs of wear.
Provenance: Private collection in the Erzgebirge.
