Terracotta, reddish-brown. Inscribed "Mathurin Moreau hors Concours." H 69 cm. 12.8 kg.
A seated woman in a long dress, holding a woven basket, shields her eyes with her left hand as she gazes into the distance. This is a depiction of a shell collector. The toes of the right foot have likely been restored; a piece of the headscarf and the wrist of the left hand are broken and glued; there may be restoration on the left arm; the pedestal is chipped, broken off, and glued.
