Cast metal, bronze-colored patina, black stone base. Marked "H. Moreau," with the stamp "Fabrication Francaise. Made in France. Paris." H 55 cm / 53 cm. 10 kg.
Two girls with a basket of flowers. One holds the other close protectively, while the wind blows through their hair and robes. This is a depiction of the work "Consolation" or "Les soeurs". Signs of age and wear; patina partially worn away; a few scratches and dents; small hole on the back (Ø 0.2 cm); slight patina formation (white rust).
Hippolyte François Moreau: French sculptor, sculptor in Paris, studied under his father J.-B. Moreau and François Jouffroy.
