Woman with a bonnet
Terracotta, painted dark brown, red marble base. Inscribed "Huez 1797." H 32.5 / 23 cm. 4.50 kg.
On a round red pedestal, the bust of a young woman wearing a bonnet with a wavy edge. Signs of age and wear, a few minor chips, upper edge of the pedestal chipped off.
If this is indeed Jean-Baptiste Cyprien d’Huez, then: French sculptor (1728 Arras – 1793 Paris), trained under Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.
