Bust of a Woman
Cast metal, patinated black, probably filled. Without signature. 58 x 27 x 24 cm. 14.15 kg.
Bust of a young woman with curly hair, depicted with her upper body wrapped in an antique-style garment, either shivering or out of modesty. Based on the work "La Pudeur" by Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741 Versailles – 1828 Paris). Signs of age and wear, scratches and dents, a large hole in the base (2.2 x 0.4 cm).
A version of this bust is also available in this auction in ceramic and porcelain.
