Patinated bronze. Inscribed “Mathurin Moreau hors Concours.” H 45.5 cm. 12.2 kg.
A woman with a girl and a small boy in antique-style robes, holding onto one another and moving forward together. Their posture and the drapery of their robes suggest a strong headwind. This is a depiction of the work "L'Orage". Signs of age and wear, patina rubbed off, some scratches, patina formation (verdigris).
Mathurin Moreau: Thieme/Becker: Sculptor in Paris; studied under his father, J.-B. Moreau, as well as under Claude Ramey and Albert Dumont.
