Large bronze—Standing Girl in the Wind
Patinated bronze. Signed "Léon Pilet," titled "Le Coup de Vent," no foundry mark; casting cannot be dated. H 80 cm. 27 kg.
Barefoot young woman with flowing hair, holding her dress in place with both hands as the wind blows. The sculpture “Le Coup de Vent” was presented at the 1888 World’s Fair in Paris; it is currently housed at the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence. Several versions of this sculpture were created in various materials and sizes. Signs of age and wear; patina partially worn away; minor scratches.
