Baroque spindle pocket watch.
Movement signed W[illiam] Beckett London 1901, solid brass plate movement with ornate floral decorations and a floral openwork spindle bridge with a mascaron, profiled movement pillars, spindle escapement, chain, and fusee.
Silver: Case and interior marked with the City of London hallmark, a striding lion, the year mark D for the year 1769, and the maker’s mark WP for William Plummer (registered 1755). Diameter (measured without the case) 4.09 cm. 59.9 g.
Baroque spindle pocket watch with an overcase. The enameled dial features Roman numerals, an outer minute track with Arabic numerals, and fleur-de-lys-style hands. Functional in a brief test. Gold plating on the hands is worn off; the enamel on the dial has chips along the edge; the key has been replaced. The outer case shows some signs of age and wear, with a few dents.
