White Carrara marble. signed and dated "J. Clesinger 1873". H 61.5 cm. 50.40 kg.
On a round base, the bust of a young girl with half-open, long hair and hair bow. Slight signs of age and wear, chipped on the hair bow.
Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clésinger: French sculptor and painter, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Besançon, pupil of Bertel Thorvaldsen.
