Mantel clock in a Neo-Baroque style with brass inlays on a red, burl-like lacquered background in the style of Boulle marquetry. These are crafted in forms that combine Baroque aesthetics with the contemporary tastes of Art Nouveau. The enamel dial features printed Roman numerals for the hours and the notation v. Déposé (registered design), as well as Arabic numerals for the minutes and fleur-de-lys hands. Functional in a short-term test. Gold plating slightly worn; two areas of damage along one side edge; some of the inlays protrude slightly above the case. A chip in the veneer on the side, not visible from the front.
Key: manufactured by the Aktiengesellschaft für Uhrenfabrikation in Lenzkirch, which worked closely with Berger and Würker.
